Even the longest journey begins with a small step. It is precisely this philosophy that the development and cultivation of our ecological consciousness is based on, small steps lead to big results of our ecological consciousness. As we have said in our previous articles, gradually and with small changes in our lifestyle and habits, we can see a difference in our daily lives as well as in the long term.
Ideas and solutions
For this reason we have thought of and presented some suggestions on how in one afternoon we can, with simple steps, make a contribution to the environment and thus in the future to ourselves!
Step 1: Walk around the neighbourhood and clean up
Half an hour is enough to clean the block of our house from a lot of trash lying littered on the streets, the sidewalks, the park next to us. A pair of gloves, a mask, a large garbage bag and a couple of minutes at our disposal is enough to clean a piece of our city of unnecessary clutter!
Bonus tip: To promote this very simple yet important idea, put out a call on social media. All it takes is a post or some kind of #challenge , for several of our online friends to follow this initiative, on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon!
Step 2: Reuse (especially for our little friends)
The painting, crafting and making part is a favorite of young and old alike. So let’s try next time we want to decorate our home with something new and experiment with packaging that apparently has no use anymore, but in reality “one person’s trash can be another person’s treasure”. We can cut , paint, glue and draw on rolls of paper towels, boxes, shoe boxes, cans, bottles, milk cartons, and anything else that might tempt your mind. The result will be amazing and everyone will love it!
Step 3: Creams made from edible ingredients!
With a guide of five to six articles and the help of our fridge and cupboards, we can make great face and body creams, without chemicals! Who would have thought that exfoliation could be done with just oil and sugar?
Step 4: Sew your own tote bag!
In a previous article we talked extensively about the benefits of a tote bag versus a plastic one! So step by step with various videos available on audio playback platforms and an old fabric of our own, without even having to buy, we can create and craft our own tote bag!
We look forward to you implementing our ideas and contacting us to tell us the results!
