Do you like yoga? If you are looking for a way to relax after a long week of work, we have the solution for you. Modus Verde asbl organises yoga sessions in nature every Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30.

On Saturday 26/06 at 10:30 am the association awaits you in the Cinquantenaire Park for a yoga session. Yoga teacher Bruce Chang will introduce us to the world of yoga for physical and spiritual balance.

What are the benefits of yoga?

Yoga is a discipline that combines physical and spiritual exercises. Much more than a simple sport, it is practised as an introduction to well-being and harmony with oneself, others and especially the external environment. Originating in India, it is a practice with a very long history. The benefits of yoga are as follows :

  • Improvement of body image
  • Increased concentration
  • Prevents depression and combats anxiety
  • Develops mindfulness
  • Improves flexibility and balance in the body

Yoga is known for its ability to eliminate stress and promote relaxation. Indeed, numerous studies have shown that it can reduce the secretion of cortisol, the main hormone responsible for stress.

One study demonstrates the powerful effect of yoga on stress by following 24 women who described themselves as ’emotionally unstable’. After a three-month yoga programme, the women had significantly lower cortisol levels. They also had lower levels of stress, anxiety, fatigue and depression.

Another study of 131 people found similar results, showing that ten weeks of yoga helped reduce stress and anxiety. It also helped to improve quality of life and mental health.

Yoga has been shown to be an effective way to control stress. Combining it with meditation and other forms of exercise such as Pilates is beneficial for your mental and physical health!

What is Modus Verde asbl?

Modus Verde in Latin means “the green method”. It is a non-profit organisation whose objective is to contribute to the improvement of the physical and mental health of modern man. Considering the emergence of modern health problems of the urbanized man such as

  • auto-immune diseases
  • burnout
  • diabetes
    (due to poor nutrition caused by a fast pace of life)

Modus Verde wants to promote the philosophy of wellness as an aid through a holistic approach that combines
